He suggested he would be open to sleeping with NBC Sports studio host Kathryn Tappen after the two went on a summer vacation in Portugal with Roenick’s wife, Tracy. Roenick said he was approached by at least one person who asked if the trio were together.
“I play it off like we’re all going to bed together every night, the three of us,” Roenick said. “If it came to fruition, that would be good. But it’s never going to happen.” He revealed this during a recent appearance on the hockey-centric podcast Spittin’ Chiclets, Roenick made remarks about Kathryn Tappen and Patrick Sharp, both of whom also cover the NHL for NBC.
During the podcast interview, Roenick also commented on Sharp’s appearance, calling the retired NHL player “so beautiful” and remarking that “I wouldn’t say no right away” if Sharp invited him to bed.
CNN reported that Roenick said his wife and Tappen, who are close friends, “scream and yell at me, but listen, it’s worth the yelling. There’s no question,” Roenick said.

She started her career in College Sports Television and joined WJAR in Providence, R.I and she served as both a weekend anchor and weekday sports reporter. From there she moved to New England Sports Network (NESN), Tappen then joined the NHL Network in 2011 where she hosted NHL Tonight and subsequently moved to NBC in the summer of 2014.
Later, in 2014 Tappen won the “Woman of Inspiration” award presented by the Boston Chapter of Women in Sports and Events. She has been nominated for two New England Emmy Awards for sports reporting and won an Associated Press award in 2006 for her feature Swim Meet.
